“Hey, Baby” series (B&W edition)

This set of photos is titled the “Hey, Baby” series. New Orleans, Louisiana is an occult city full of fascinating history and culture. While the beautiful city possesses such elegance, the people who reside in New Orleans are impoverished. New Orleans has the eighth highest crime rate in the U.S. and the public school systems are a scandal. The predominant African American population in this city have been dominated by an intensely corrupt, racist political establishment for the past years. What is special about this city are the people in it and the unique environment. I was taught that, through struggle, its best to smile. The people in New Orleans were the happiest and most content people I have ever met in times where it is difficult to be in high spirits. This series consists of every day citizens of New Orleans performing their daily duties and sometimes even interacting with me. This photo set is inspired by assessments of the fundamentals of happiness.
